Terms of use and Pro listing
Last updated 9 October 2026. These terms apply to accounts, reviews and paid Pro listings on cakecollection.co.uk. The legal notice covers who publishes the site and how listings work; the privacy notice covers your data.
The service
The Cake Collection is a directory of cake makers in the United Kingdom, run by OmniLearnConsultingCommerce LLC (details in the legal notice). Listing a bakery is free. A bakery can also pay for Pro, described below. We do not take cake orders, handle payments for cakes or guarantee anything a listed business sells: an order is a contract between the customer and the bakery.
Accounts
You need a real email address that you can confirm, one account per person, and a password you keep to yourself. If you manage a bakery’s listing, you must own the business or be authorised by its owner, and what you publish must be accurate. We can suspend an account used for fake listings, fake reviews or impersonation, and we tell you why by email.
You can delete your account at any time from your account. If one of your listings has a running Pro subscription, cancel it first (see below): deleting the account does not stop billing by itself.
Reviews
A review must describe your own experience with the bakery. Not allowed: reviewing your own business or a competitor, reviews written in exchange for money, a discount or a free cake, abuse, and personal details of other people. We read reviews before publishing them and can refuse or remove one that breaks these rules. A bakery can reply in public; it cannot edit or delete a review, and paying for Pro has no effect on which reviews are shown.
You keep the rights in what you write. By posting it, you allow us to show it on the site for as long as it stays published.
Pro listing: what you get
Pro shows the bakery’s full contact details and direct ordering link, adds a Pro label, and places the listing above free listings in its county. Pro does not buy a review, a position in search engines, a number of enquiries or the removal of another business.
Price, free month and billing
Pro costs £10 per month per listing. The first month is free. Stripe takes the first payment at the end of the free month, then every month on the same date until you cancel. If we ever change the price, we email you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before it does.
Before a listing switches to Pro we check that the payer runs the bakery: straight away if the email used to pay matches the listing, otherwise by calling the phone number on the listing. If we cannot confirm it, we cancel the subscription and nothing is charged.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, without giving a reason, from the “Billing and cancellation” button next to the listing in your account. You can also write to hello@cakecollection.co.uk and we cancel it for you within one working day.
Cancelling during the free month means you are never charged. Cancelling later stops the next payment: the listing stays Pro until the end of the month already paid, then goes back to a free listing. Nothing is deleted.
Refunds
A month already started is not refunded, with two exceptions: a payment taken after you cancelled is refunded in full, and if Pro features were unavailable for more than 72 hours in a month through our fault, that month is refunded on request.
Pro is sold to businesses. If you subscribe as a consumer, you can also cancel within 14 days of subscribing for a full refund of anything charged in that time, and you keep every other right the law gives you.
If we end Pro
We can end Pro for a listing that breaks these terms, by email giving the reason; the unused part of the month is then refunded. If we close the directory or stop selling Pro, we give 30 days’ notice and refund any period paid but not delivered.
Liability
Our total liability for a Pro listing is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for loss of business or profit. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Law and complaints
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction, without depriving a consumer of the mandatory protection of the country where they live. Complaints go to hello@cakecollection.co.uk; we answer within five working days.
