Cake Collection is a directory of independent cake makers in the United Kingdom: celebration cakes, wedding cakes, cupcakes, gluten-free and vegan bakers, and the sort of small home-based business that never shows up first on Google because it does not have a marketing budget.

Why it exists

Search for a wedding cake in your county and the first page is marketplaces. You submit a form, three strangers quote, and the platform keeps a slice of whatever you spend. The baker you eventually hire never sees the difference, because they priced the commission in.

This site is the other way round. Every listing points at the baker. Where a baker has claimed their page, you get the phone number and the website and you deal with them directly. We are not in the middle of the transaction and we do not want to be.

How a bakery gets listed

We add businesses that are real, trading, and reachable. Listing costs nothing. Bakers who want their contact details and an order link on their page pay a flat monthly fee, and that is the only money the site makes. There is no pay-to-rank auction: a paid listing sits above unpaid ones in its county, and that is the whole of it. What we will not do is invent reviews or dress up an advert as an editorial pick.

What we are not

We do not bake. We do not take orders, hold deposits, or guarantee anyone’s work. If a cake goes wrong, your contract is with the baker, and we would still like to hear about it, because a business that lets customers down does not stay on the directory.
