Wedding Cake Prices in the UK: What Bakers Charge in 2026

The Cake Collection lists over 4,000 bakeries across the UK. In October 2026 we went through the price lists they publish on their own websites and kept every wedding cake figure we could trace to its source. The short version: a two-tier cake from a working bakery starts at around £150, most three-tier cakes sit between £260 and £800, and a large decorated showpiece can pass £1,500. The detail is below, and every price links to the bakery that published it.

Two-tier wedding cakes

Two tiers cover most weddings of up to about 65 guests, and the spread is wider than couples tend to expect.

Bakery What you get Price
Luminary Bakery, London Two tiers, 26–28 slices £150
Luminary Bakery, London Two tiers, 40–44 slices £195
Lone Wolf Bakery, Lancaster 8″ + 10″, 60–64 guests £200
Crumbs and Doilies, London Two tiers from £220
CakeCo, Kingston upon Thames Fresh cream wedding cake from £300
Lone Wolf Bakery, Lancaster Tall 10″ + 12″, 130–136 guests £340
Royal Bake UK, London Two-layer wedding cake £365

Lone Wolf’s £200 cake for sixty-odd guests works out at a little over £3 a serving, which is hard to argue with. The same budget buys very different things depending on the finish: CakeCo’s £300 cakes are fresh cream, while Royal Bake’s £365 two-layer is a fully iced design.

Three tiers and up

Bakery What you get Price
Lone Wolf Bakery, Lancaster Three tiers, 90–94 guests £260
Baked By Beth, Stroud Three tiers from £395
Cake Owls, Feltham Three tiers, by design band from £475, £600 or £800
Cake Owls, Feltham Four tiers from £600 to £1,000
Cake Owls, Feltham Five tiers from £800 to £1,500

Cake Owls prices by design band rather than by size alone: a simpler three-tier starts at £475, the same structure with heavy decorative work starts at £800. That banding exists almost everywhere even when it is not spelt out, and it is why two quotes for “a three-tier for 100” can land hundreds of pounds apart.

Per-portion pricing

Some makers quote per serving instead of per cake. Vanilla Pod Bakery in Cheltenham publishes £5 to £45 per portion depending on the complexity of the design, and tells couples they typically invest £600 to £1,500 in the finished cake. A per-portion quote is easier to compare once you multiply it by your guest count, but ask what counts as a portion first. A finger slice and a dessert slice are not the same thing, and the quote assumes one or the other.

What the quote includes

Baked By Beth in Stroud notes that its wedding prices exclude delivery and installation, and that is the norm rather than the exception. Tiered cakes travel badly, so most bakers charge for the trip and the on-site assembly, usually by distance. Worth asking early, because it can add a meaningful sum to a venue an hour away.

If the budget will not stretch to a big tiered cake, there are respectable ways around it. Baked By Beth offers a trio of smaller cakes from £225, and a single decorated tier backed by plain kitchen cakes does the same job at the reception for far less. No guest has ever checked.

Where these numbers come from

Every price on this page was taken from the bakery’s own published price list or product page in October 2026, and links to that bakery’s listing in our directory. Prices move, and some of these will have changed by the time you read this, so treat the tables as a map of the market rather than a quote. For a current figure, open the listing and use the contact details there.
